Dear Customer,
We want to inform you of an upcoming material change affecting our EN54 pt23 and/or UL1971 standard optics.
Our current supplier of the Polycarbonate V2 clear optical grade (Caliber303EP-22), which we have used for several years, has unexpectedly ceased production due to a plant issue and has decided to decommission the facility. This means the material is no longer available for sourcing.
While working through our remaining stock, we have conducted extensive trials and optical checks on a wide range of alternative grades. Our priority has been to ensure long-term supply stability and maintain compliance with all relevant standards.
We are pleased to confirm that we have selected a new material: Sabic LUX2180T, a V2-rated Polycarbonate from a major global supplier. This material offers slightly improved optical performance thanks to its enhanced clarity. We can provide full documentation, including UL Yellow Cards, to support your compliance needs.
Although we cannot provide a firm date for the full changeover, we already have a selection of sample parts available for your own testing if required. Please contact us if you would like samples or additional support during this transition.
A large consignment of the new material is scheduled to arrive early in the New Year, ensuring a smooth changeover as our existing material stock runs out.
Thank you for your understanding and continued partnership. If you have any questions or require assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out.
